The 1st International Prosumer Economy Conference (IPEC2024) will facilitate interactions among researchers working in the field of Prosumer Economy and alternative economies, enabling them to establish a network and draw a common roadmap. We aim to hold the Prosumer Economy Conference regularly every year, bringing together researchers and practitioners working on alternative economies worldwide, as well as individuals and institutions interested in new economic models that aim to create ecological and social impacts in their daily lives or, more importantly, in the business world. Through this conference, we will take significant steps in communication and organizational solutions to achieve this challenging system transformation.
Our goal is also to create awareness and discussion of the Prosumer Economy by practitioners, academics, and activists who implement and study alternative and new economies.
The conference will be held at Kadir Has University, Cibali campus, and topics such as Alternative and New Economies, Degrowth, Donut Economics, Post Growth, Social Economy, Solidarity Economy, Economy for the Common Good, Prosumer Economy, Movement Building, Green Policies, Local and Alternative Currencies will be examined. We will host numerous international speakers and participants.
Panels will take place in two different halls, each lasting 40 minutes. While our main speakers will deliver their speeches in one hall, our partners, who play active roles in their fields, will organize parallel panels in the second hall. Conference Vision: There is a global consensus that the root cause of the deepening climate crisis is the current economic system. With this understanding, since 2012, we have been developing the “Prosumer Economy” as an alternative economic model both in practice and in theory. Based on our experiences and the practical application of the model, we can say that it works. Therefore, with the goal to create awareness and discussion by practitioners, academics, and activists who implement and study alternative economic models, we are implementing the 1st International Prosumer Economy Conference (IPEC).
